My journey with yoga started in the 1990’S, after seeking relief from a herniated disc in my lower back. Yoga was the first avenue to provide both a true sense of physical well-being, while also grounding my emotional well-being. In 2008, I moved from Seattle to Los Angeles as an inspired and interested yogi. By 2009, I completed my first 200 hour teacher training at City Yoga in LA. I then went on to teach yoga and assist with yoga teacher trainings for City Yoga. 2012 brought me back to Seattle, as my husband and I welcomed twins. In 2013, I finished my 500 hour yoga teacher training with Eight Limbs Yoga, in Seattle. I have been exploring how yoga fits into everyday life ever since. I have a loving acceptance of students as individuals. Teaching gives me the opportunity to help people find their unique strengths and to help them align poses for their own bodies. I teach because I want to help people connect within and to connect with the present moment. In my classes, you can expect a slow, intentional warm up, followed by a natural progression into more flowing movements, an exploration of longer, deeper holds, rounded out by stretching, cooling down, pranayama and meditation. For me, practicing yoga provides a physical sense of well-being, which in turn, sets the stage for a more clear, more focused, more grounded present moment. I value how yoga lessons on the mat transcribe to other parts of life. I love to continually learn and consider successes, failures, injuries and accidents all part of the loveliness, albeit messiness too, of life and learning. My greatest joy is helping others. I look forward to connecting with you. I will meet you with compassion, honor and an open heart.
